Though I’ve always been drawn to art, my career was spent as a teacher in an Elementary classroom with an emphasis on reading and writing, After studying art and psychology as an undergrad at EIU, pursuing an MA in Art Therapy Counseling at SIUE later in life was a natural progression. That course of study introduced me to a wide array of materials. The emphasis on process influences my approach to art making to this day. I work with watercolor mixed media, clay, acrylic, and oil pastels. I enjoy a range of materials, as the medium often dictates the level of abstraction that is present in my work.
