I am a self-taught, modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why.
I have had multiple gallery shows at The Creative Gallery and solo shows at 1900 Park - Creative Space and Gallery and The Airport Renaissance Hotel. My work was featured in a video by London recording artist Liz Cirelli and has won multiple awards at The Soulard Art Gallery and through the MySLART monthly 13 shows. Recently, I was one of 40 local artists that were featured in two different virtual juried shows hosted by Art Saint Louis. I've also been the cover artist for GESSO magazine and have been featured in the Ladue News. The solo art show at Good Weather Gallery will feature 32 of my most recent works.
Some artists paint portraits. Others do still-lifes. Some create abstract art. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better.
You will notice traces of Magritte in my work - and for good reason - the Belgian surrealist master is my painting hero. There will never be another Magritte. My on-going quest is to continue to get better as an artist in both thought and execution, becoming a modern day surrealist with a style that is uniquely my own.
